Google Meet Tomorrow (Thur) at 10:00 Sharing Circle

Hello, Grade 3 Families,

We wanted to send you all a reminder of our weekly Google Meet is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, April 16th at 10:00 a.m. 

Mrs. McDonald's class will be doing a sharing circle so please bring something you wish to share; a piece of work, art, or something exciting you have done. We will also take a look at Google Classroom and make sure that everyone knows how to upload their work onto it!

We are so excited to connect with the kids again! Please see the teacher codes below. We have also attached instructions to get to the Google Meet for those who require it.

Instructions to Join Google Meet:

Please have your Chrome Browser open for best results

Follow these steps to attend your first Google Meet for your class:

1.   “Sign in” on Google with your child’s school Gmail account (___@educbe.ca)

2.   Type into Google search “Google Meet”

  OR    

Click on Google Apps icon (upper right-hand corner), 

then, click on Meet 

4.   Click on “Join or start a meeting” and type in your teacher’s meeting code:

(ros + teacher last name + 3):

5.   Once you see your teacher’s name is present on the Meet list, then click on “Join Now” icon 

(Please Do NOT enter the Meet if your teacher is not there)

The first time you use Google Meet, you will be prompted for permission for the app to use your camera and microphone. You must Allow this prompt for Google Meet to work. You can then click the Dismiss button.

6.   Once you enter the room you will be asked to mute your mic by clicking on the “Turn off microphone” icon at the bottom of the screen 

To reduce background noise in the meeting, you should always turn your microphone off when you enter the meeting, and when not speaking. You can turn the microphone and camera off using the red buttons.

 7.  Google meeting WILL NOT be recorded.  Teacher, student, and parents are NOT PERMITTED to record or take pictures of the video conference

Please review the following digital etiquette rules with your child before the first meeting:

8.   Once the meeting has finished, it is important to leave the meeting room (click “Leave call” icon) and then close the browser tab/window. Please do not re-enter the meeting once it is finished.
