WE WILL BE SENDING OUT LETTERS FOR STUDENTS TO LOG INTO RAZ KIDS EARLY NEXT WEEK. STUDENTS WILL BE SENT HOME A CARD WITH THEIR LOGIN AND PASSWORD.

PUMPKIN CHALLENGE

All of the classes at Royal Oak School have the opportunity to carve/create a pumpkin related to their learning. Our class has been inquiring into Frank, Alberta; a community from over 100 years ago!

Bradley said, "We are making our pumpkin into an old-fashioned coal mining cart! Today we all made coal out of crumpled paper and we put black duct tape around it and crunched it up!".

Can you guess what part of the cart is made from a pumpkin?!

FRANK JOBS
We have each been assigned a job from Frank. Some of the jobs include; Carpenter, Mayor, Train Conductor, Doctor, RCMP, Newspaper Reporter, Student, Mother, Nurse, Geologist, Blacksmith, Teacher, Maid, Coal miner, Mr. Frank, Waiter, Tailor and Boarding House Keeper. We are thinking about how it would have been to have our job long ago. We are writing a journal about our lives in Frank.

MATH
WE have finally finished our Masloppy Inventory Inquiry! Students have learned a lot about the patterns which help numbers to grow. Now we will start looking at breaking numbers into ten's, five's and extras (one's), to help us efficiently regroup for addition.

Ask me how many 10's, 5's and 1's are inside of:
14, 15, 16
What did I notice?
