Mond/Tues CAFE Strategies, New Math Inquiry, Evaporation Experiment

Here are our CAFE Reading Strategies from Monday and Tuesday so far:

(C) Comprehension: Visualize

(A) Accuracy: Look for Beginning and Ending Sounds

Science Experiment:
Today we watched a kettle boil water to 100 degree Celsius. We made observations and hypotheses about what the water molecules began to do as the water heated up. Many of us predicted that the water would change states from a liquid to a gas. The water was Evaporating!

Afterwards, we held our palms over the steam from warm water and noticed that our hands were damp. We then realized that this was another part of the water cycle called Condensation! The water had changed states back into a liquid :))
