Reminder!

The Grade 2 Charlotte’s Web field trip is this Thursday, November 23. We need student and volunteer permission forms back ASAP!

-One of our Open Number Line strategies involves being able to add (skip-count) by tens, starting at any number to 100. 

-I have identified this as an area of growth for most students.

Math: 100’s Chart

Today in math we continued exploring place value and number sense with a 100’s chart. Using a 100’s chart, we looked for patterns when adding 10’s to numbers

I can COUNT ON by 10’s

(from the higher number in an equation)

1. Find the friendly 10’s for the smaller number
2. Find the higher number on a 100 chart
3. Move down one box for each 10 you found
4. Check off your friendly 10’s each time you move down

Inquiry

We are entering the final stages of our water inquiry. This week we will build and test our own water filters. If you have any 500ml water bottles or possible filtering materials, your child can bring them to class this week to help in their construction.
