Math
For the last week in Math, we have been exploring math word problems. We have been following 8 steps in understanding and completing a word problem. Students worked in groups to complete the steps and the word problems together and then present their work and strategies to the class.
Literacy
In literacy we have been working on our comprehension strategies by practicing predictions. Students have been working in groups to read texts, while making and checking predictions.
Inquiry
For our inquiry, students have completed building and testing their water filters. They will be coming home this week, my apologies if your children insist on making and cleaning dirty water in your house.
We have begun to study a Community in the Past, by comparing the City of Calgary in the to the City of Calgary of today, as well as exploring some artifacts from that past.
