In Math this week, we have started to collect data and explore different ways of representing and presenting data. We took a poll of our students to discover who liked dogs, cats, or both best. We then looked for different ways to show that data. Students looked at a few examples, and then helped to create the following rubric.
InquiryDisciplinary Literacy: Geology
We have started to explore what it the disciplinary practice of geology. Students were asked to find two different rocks from outside and bring them to class to examine. We have asked that students don't bring any rocks that are special or that are bigger than their palm.
The Circle of Courage: class meeting
We had our first Circle of Courage meeting. Students shared ideas around respect, personal boundaries and space outside. Here were a few of their ideas:
