Math
This week we continue with multiplication, specifically exploring multiplication through the number line.
3 x 4 = 12 -----really means 3 groups of 4 equals 12

Language Arts
Students are continuing to edit and complete their science folder experiment sheets, OREO writing, Hamburger writing, and good copies. We will be finishing up our Rocks and Minerals inquiry by next Wednesday. Stay tuned for our next exciting Science adventure!
ScratchJrYesterday students used ScratchJr to code an animation of a part of the rock cycle. Scratch Jr is an app and is an excellent entry point for coding and computational thinking.
STEM and STEAMToday we also discussed what STEM and STEAM mean and looks at some examples of STEM challenges and how to identify the various subjects. Mr. Sandberg showed the class an example of a STEAM project that he created for the University of Calgary. I coded a music synthesizer and it can be found here: AgentSonos
