Nov 12-15 'no excuse' words:
Every Tuesday, students are given (now) 10 new words that are always from and strongly related to our curricular studies. The expectation is that students will 'say, spell and use' these words through their reading, speaking, and writing. Please review these words with your child, discuss their meaning, spelling, and use. Students will have access to these words around the classroom and on their desks.

Math
In math, we are working on unitizing various numbers of items in a grocery store and making equations using repeated addition and multiplication. Below is the image we have been using to group items and calculate totals and groups.

Plebiscite
Today is the Olympic Plebiscite and our school is a voting station. As this event is an important opportunity to demonstrate democracy and debate, our students took part in a discussion about the potential of Calgary hosting the Olympics and we held a classroom vote to determine where students stand on the issue. There was much excitement and discussion!

Here are our results:

Our ballot!
